One of the most important and much overlooked symptoms of diabetes back in the day was PCOS. I went for my full body check up in the year 2012, where I had a routine check up with gynecologists as a part of my full body checkup. The result came back that I had borderline PCOS. Not knowing much about PCOS at that time, I completely ignored it and did nothing about it. Fast forward in 2015, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
Correlation between PCOS and Diabetes
PCOS, which stands for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, is caused by hormonal imbalance. This hormonal imbalance gives rise to insulin resistance, which is the root cause of diabetes.
My advice to someone with Type 2 diabetes is to get yourself checked for PCOS and other insulin resistance disorders. Early intervention is very important for type 2 diabetes. The earlier you find out your condition and accept it, the better it can controlled and one can live as long as non -diabetic person.
